The Berden stop for the no. 26 bus, Royston to Bishop's Stortford on Thursdays, was to be discontinued in the New Year because Hertfordshire CC has withdrawn funding. The Parish Council, supported by our Essex County Councillor Ray Gooding have successfuly applied to Essex for support funding to enable the service to continue through to March 28th, when it is hoped that there will be an alternative long term solution. |

On November the 19th Clive and Sheila Lane retired as Chairman and Secretary of the Village Hall Committee after nine years of service. At the AGM they were thanked for all their hard work, on behalf of the village, by Paul Chapman (committee member and VH trustee). They where presented with a parting gift made possible by the generous contributions received from Berdenites. We have one of the best Village Halls because of all their hard work so a big thank you to you both and your committee. |

but he's not really going! On Sunday October 21st Jenny Lowe aided by the Nelsons organised a bash for John Arnell in the Village Hall. John has now retired from 20 years on the Parish Council and as chairman for 12 of those years. It was a great opportunity to thank him and his councillors and clerks for their contribution to village life, which is a bit good. There were a number of photos taken so hopefully they will find their way to the website "art gallery", all the best John and thank you. |

- Spoof emails trying to get you to login to your Bank (phishing)
- Emails with known viruses
