What a lovely day for the croquet finals, thank you very much to the Nelsons for hosting it and to the croquet committee. The full story follows and photos are in the Photo Gallery; 

In the morning Jenny and John Arnell played  Pili and Philip Scatchard in the Plate finals.   The closeness of the match indicated that the bisques were working well; after a well fought match Jenny and John were the winners (editors note; but only just).

 After a good lunch Alison and Martin and Steve and Adam took to the lawn for the Bowl final.  Again it was an exciting match for the large crowd of spectators who were enjoying the warm sunshine and the play.  Adam and Steve won and claimed the trophy. 

The junior championship was won by Florence Pulfer who was presented with a super trophy.  A big thank you goes to Steve for all he did to encourage the younger generation and to coach the slightly older generation.  His enthusiasm has ensured that this season has seen new players enjoy the game.  We hope that all those who played this year will come back next year to learn more and hone their skills.

It has been suggested that we run a singles ladder (or  two singles ladders, one for men and one for women).  We would be delighted to do this so it would be helpful to know if you play if we set this up?
