I have found your site and news about the village very intresting. Some of my fathers family originated in Berden and many left the village for Australia in the middle 1800's What a big journey they had to undertake for a new life.Their name was Harvey and they married into Sibley's, White's, Bretts and a few others.
Thank you
Rene

Hi Adrain,The family I am following in Berden is Harvey.I do have a Joshua Harvey/Mary Sibley married 1824. They had four children I know of.Jane bn1825,Louisa bn1828,Ellen bn1831,and Joshua bn1838. Joshua snr,was bn1790 his brother was Thomas bn1792. This is my line. I have been dipping in and out of this family for 20yrs or more. Was the farm your mother stayed called 'White Willows? Good to hear from you.I will check the Knight's.Look forward to hearing from you.
Happy hunting,
Rene.
Ps Berden is still a lovely quiet hamlet.
