50 villagers turned up for the "get to know your village footpaths day". 3 walks were selected by David Barnes to cater for all age groups. The start point was the village hall where the walkers collected their maps and obscure references to the odd treasure that might be found on route. All were counted back for a BBQ and the bar was open for some well earned refreshments. Thank you very much to the Social Club for organising a great day. |

Mr Tinney of Priory Farm has reported to the Council that a shirt, which had obviously been set on fire, has recently been found on one of his fields. He would like to point out that starting any kind of fire in the fields, particularly after such a long stretch of fine dry weather as we have had recently, is extremely dangerous, as sparks can travel a long way and set light to crops etc with potentially disastrous results. The shirt is white with short sleeves and a red collar, “Caterpillar” brand. If anyone would like to reclaim it, please contact the Parish Clerk on 777784. In any case, please don’t do it again! Andrew Nelson, Parish Clerk |
