Berden Boules
Berden Social Club is delighted to announce that the Boules terrain in the village hall grounds is now available for use.

The generosity of Stansted Airport Community Trust has meant that the cost to the village has been minimal and the usual voluntary labour saw the terrain installed in just 2 days. In case you are unfamiliar with the rules you can peruse them here: bouleswebrules.pdf
and a further copy is now kept in the village hall after vandals purloined the first set .
There will shortly be a list in the hall which you should sign if you want to join the 'ladder' but please feel free to play at any time.
Important!
You MUST always check first with Carol Fahy ( Village Hall Bookings Secretary – 777480 ), as people who have booked the Hall for a meeting or function have priority over the whole premises, while they are paying rent!

Inexpensive Boules sets can be purchased here:

Berden Social Club was formed in 1971 after the closure of Berden's last pub, The Raven. It's object, as enshrined in the constitution, is "to provide such facilities for the benefit of members, and their guests, as may be required by members for the enjoyment and promotion of social and sporting activities." This rather dry phraseology in no way reflects the tremendous atmosphere at Social Club gatherings! .
